People I want to stop bugging me

America's Wholesale Lender- I do not want a home equity loan, because I want to pay off my entire mortgage. Stop with the letters!

The Firefighters/Policemen organizations- I do not want to go to an Oldies concert, a Circus, a Country Western concert, nor do I want to buy tickets to send anyone else to these things. Quit trying to raise money at the same time.

Various and assorted recordings from politicians- Enough already! I know who I'm voting for and you're not going to change my mind . Quit calling every afternoon!

And to Bob Corker: Thank you for getting some better tv ads with Fred Thompson narration. I was getting sick of looking at your mother. But I appreciate your wife calling me today to ask me to vote for you.

I feel better now....

Best Of....

Nashville Scene has published its annual reader poll of the "Best of Nashville". Surprisingly, I was familar with most of the restaurants (not bars) on the list. I guess I'm not as out of touch as I think I am. Dave and I are going to the #1 Seafood choice, Bonefish Grill, tomorrow night to celebrate his birthday, which was yesterday.

Every year Dave just catches up with my age on his birthday (we were born the same year), but I still derive great joy from teaching Daniel to say "Old Daddy". Dave got over it when I gave him a new Xbox game, which he and Daniel enjoyed the rest of the night.

David Stewart strikes again...

This morning Dave went to his dentist appointment only to find they had called another David Stewart to tell him to come in for the appointment. He was sitting in the waiting room. Dave talked to the other Dave and found out his wife had a cleaning at 7:30 and although he didn't remember making an appointment, everyone assumed he was the David Stewart scheduled for 8:00. Dave really didn't want to have his cavity filled anyway, but now I have to call back and make another appointment, which is a huge scheduling nightmare. It took us several weeks to get this one set up. Agh....

Also, 60 Minutes did a story on the TSA "No Fly" list on Sunday night. They interviewed 12 Robert Johnsons, who all had trouble flying. They had all missed flights, and one of them had even been strip searched! Looks like Dave has been getting off easy, since he's only almost missed a few flights due to being on the list. He's not had any trouble flying under his middle name. After watching the story, we're convinced the list is worthless anyway. Good to know.

Spellbound

We ordered Christmas stockings this week - I really wanted the really cute personalized Pottery Barn Kids ones that sell out every year and then are re-sold on eBay for $50 each. They came today. Yes, this means we have picked out a name for the new little guy and no, we are not telling you. However, do you think it's bad sign the baby's name was misspelled? I've discussed with Dave and we don't think it's a common error, but it was still kind of a weird sign. More importantly, will PBK notice if I don't send it back when I get the new one?- I think I could still get $50 for it on eBay.

IKEA # 2

We thought we would give it one more try, but Daniel still doesn't love IKEA as much as we do. We wanted quite a few more items (but no furniture this time) before the baby comes, so we headed down to Atlanta for a quick day trip. We took Dave's sister with us this time also. It was a long day but worth it. We still have one item on backorder that will cost us a million dollars to ship, but we think we are done with the re-decorating projects for now.

Dave's big to do is to clean and stain the deck, and I'm still trying to get my blasted continuing education done. I broke the rules and checked out one book from the library and watched a few episodes of "Little House on the Prairie", but this week I'm back in study mode. And pack my suitcase for the hospital mode. Only 7 more weeks!

Other updates: My overall grocery savings is up to almost 50% (I'm keeping track in Excel). I cannot believe some of the great deals I was missing before. Daniel loves taking naps in his big boy bed and has not bitten me again. His big new thing is talking about Thomas and Toby and the rest of the trains. He loves to repeat the last word of everything we say. The weather is beautiful right now and we are taking full advantage of it. Happy Fall!!
