On Board with Blockbuster

We finally did something crazy and joined Blockbuster Online. We just got so tired of not having anything to watch on tv every night and we are still not ready for cable channels. After my negative rant on Delta, it's time for a more positive review.

We did the one month free trial with the 3 DVD plan, and a few days after we joined our local stores decided to participate in the Total Access program (they had been holding out). This means we can rent movies for free with any DVD we want to turn into the store instead of mailing it back. We have done this, and we are happy to report they shipped us our next movie as promised before the store movies were due back. Our shipment location is Louisville, which means we get everything the next day.

The email communication is great- we always know when they have received our movies and when more are on the way. I found it a little difficult to add movies to our Queue at first, but now that I've found the "add" button (sleep deprived moment), it seems to work just fine.

When a movie didn't show up on the day it was promised, I reported it missing and a replacment shipped out the next day. And when they accidently sent us the #2 movie on our queue list, they went ahead and shipped us the #1 movie also within the next few hours. They caught their own mistake, corrected it, and now somehow we are up to 4 DVDs out at time. I keep thinking they will catch on to this, but they keep shipping them along.

And we like the turnover rate- we joined on December 28th and I think we've watched 10 movies (individually, just a few of them we watched together) so far in the last 11 days- not too bad. I think this plan might be a keeper.
