Happy Birthday Wesley!

I celebrated Wesley's 1/2 year birthday today by starting his baby scrapbook. I am determined that he will have baby books that are every bit as nice and complete as Daniel's books (yes, I have two different books for each of them- a big picture scrapbook and a smaller baby book with more written information- crazy, aren't I?). I got quite a bit done today and I am working on them tonight while Dave and Daniel are at the Kats game. We did join them for a family dinner at the Spaghetti Factory downtown before we came home. And we even sat in the cool trolley car- I can't believe I forgot the camera!!

Yesterday Daniel told me several times there were dinosaurs outside our front door. So watch out, they might be loose in your neighborhood too!!

Summer has begun....

Sorry I haven't written much lately. We've been busy wrapping up some activities, but starting on Wednesday, our summer has officially begun.

I've entitled this summer "Stuck at Home", but I don't mean that in a bad or martyr type way. It is just truly difficult to get anywhere for a long period of time with the kids and their schedules. Wesley is 6 months old tomorrow, and I am trying to move him to a two-nap a day schedule which pretty much ties up the whole morning and afternoon. We can skip some naps later, but I'd like to get them established first. So we are limited to quick runs for errands and outings where I can supervise both kids at the same time by myself (the pool is off limits for now).

Yesterday we made a quick outing to Kroger where Daniel rode in the car cart (his favorite) and I had to carry Wesley and steer the huge cart with one hand because Wesley can't sit up on his own yet. I had too many groceries for the stroller to hold. This too will pass....

As I mentioned, tomorrow is Wesley's 6 month birthday. We know for sure of one friend who is being induced tomorrow, but we are also anxiously awaiting the birth of the next Stewart baby in our family any day now. We're not so secretly hoping for a baby boy.

We don't have huge plans for this weekend, but they do include a Kats game, helping someone move, a Spiderman birthday party, and maybe the zoo.

Two for Two

This week Daniel has gone pee pee in the potty twice (he asked to go!) and Wesley is cutting his first two teeth (they came in together on his lower gum). It's a memorable week!

Next week is our last day of "school" until September. We're looking forward to a nice summer break with no where to be and we can just hang out. Wesley is looking forward to taking some nice long naps during the day since we don't have to be out running around as much.

This weekend is triple coupon at Harris Teeter - yes, I have already been there this morning at 5 am so I could shop in peace without the kids. I was in and out in 20 minutes. Spent $10.52 and saved $87. Can't wait to go back tomorrow and Sunday (20 coupon limit per day). I guess this part of the post should be titled "Three for Three".

Update: Saturday total: Spent $20.92 and saved $132.17. Total spent: $31.44, savings: $219.31
Sunday total: Spent $9.59 and saved $59.25; Grand total: Spent $41.03 Saved $278.56

Happy Mother's Day

Daniel's answers to these questions at church (and written down by his teacher):

My Mother likes to "cookies" (cook?)
My Mother is "2" years old (what a coincidence, so is Daniel!)
My Mother's favorite food is "spaghetti" (maybe that one came from the teacher, because I call it pasta)
My Mother's favorite color is "purple" (what a coincidence, that is Daniel's favorite color!)
My Mother is as pretty as a "flower, car" (Dave was mighty proud of that one)
My Mother is good at "chips" (Daniel was eating lunch when Dave asked him that one)
My Mother and I like to "go to the park".

And Daniel, Dave and Wesley picked out a nice blue ipod Nano for me. Yea!

Go Diego Go!

A good time was had by all (even Wesley, although the performance put him to sleep).

Googling Along

We are having a good week, despite Daniel's one day illness that kept him home from school and disrupted all of my planned errands and haircut. I think he has recovered and was back at school yesterday. Today we are going to a play date in Thompson Station and to drop off a meal.

This weekend is "Dave's Weekend". He is going to a Wii party tonight, tomorrow we will go to Home Depot, and he is going to see "Spiderman 3" with a friend. Condsidering the last few weekends have included long lists of Christina's to do lists and social engagements, he is due for some "Dave time".

This morning I googled myself- just because I was looking for someone else and hadn't done that in awhile. Surprisingly, I found myself, about the 10th entry at the bottom of the first page. I'm not the Scottish singer who is the first 5-6 hits. It is a hit on some comments I submitted to the paper a few months ago (not my recent cheap claim to fame). Interesting....

Here's another article for you to read that says I work 92 hours a week. That seems about right, since I rarely sit down. It's all cute when they say how much it's worth, but no one is ever going to value it as much as my kids and husband. That's really all that matters anyway. But it would be nice to be able to pay off our house, so feel free to donate to my paycheck fund...

And one last desparate plea- I'm had an Usborne book party that I need to close out this weekend. Their books are beautiful. Last chance if you want to order something- look at this website and email me if you are interested.
